I’m grateful to read of your progress having walked the initial mile from Sandy Spring meeting with you. It may interest you to know that Joppatowne was once a significant seaport and over time silted in. Part of your walk is noticing similarities and differences between now, 30 years ago, and then during the time of the freedom seeker. Thank you for every step.

thanks for sharing that info, Michael. Yes... part of the walk is definitely pondering recent and long-ago history and today... Glad you're here with us in spirit and glad you were there in Sandy Spring for the launch!

It will take more than the stroke of a pen to wipe out the work of dedicated professionals to teach our children our true unvarnished history! Thanks for these inspiring moments. What is your route to Canada? Through Vermont?

Glad you're following along! Our walking route/schedule is definitely subject to change depending on weather, our physical stamina, events that get scheduled along the way, etc. That said, if you go to https://www.menare.org/ and then click on "Walk Calendar" at the top of the page, you'll find details on the route and timing.

This is awesome, Tom! Thanks for sharing so many details in your inimitable voice. It’s great to find teachers who teach what really matters!

You're welcome, cousin! Were your ears buzzing today? I talked about how you introduced me to your dad and our genealogical connection back in the 1980's with the folks I was walking with today. We'll need to chat about some additional family names I've encountered along this journey... more to come!
